Winterlands Has Begun!

It is time to restore order to the frozen chaos and build the ultimate train set. From Saturday, December 20th at 11 AM EST until Saturday, December 27th at 11 AM EST, join the adventure and bring peace back to the Winterlands.

Take on festive foes in a thrilling time-limited event where you’ll gather, collect, and build your own incredible train set! Track down all the train engines and cars, each with the chance to be painted in vibrant, unique hues. Design your very own track layout and watch your train steam ahead in this one-of-a-kind Outlandish winter holiday experience!

• To participate in the event, players will need to obtain a Winterlands Ticket
• Players can find Winterlands Tickets from nearly every Loot-generating activity such as: Killing Creatures, Dungeon Chests, Treasure Maps, NPC Ship Holds, etc
• Players will not, however, find Winterlands Tickets in Netherzone Regions (Pit Trials, Omni Lairs, Winterlands itself)
• Chances for Winterland Tickets to occur are scaled based on the “Gold Value” of the creature, chest, activity, etc (regions with reduced Gold amounts such as Sanctuary Dungeons are affected accordingly)
• Any bonuses that increase Gold Drops or Rare/Special Loot chance, such as Fortune Aspect / Mastery Chain Links, will NOT increase your chance at a Winterlands Ticket

• Winterlands Tickets have no expiration but can only be used while the event is active
• Winterland Tickets are Bound to individual players and cannot be used by other players
• Winterland Tickets cannot be Stolen but will drop on death

• Players may only enter the Winterlands if they have a Winterlands Ticket from the current year in their possession that is bound to them
• Players can visit a Train Conductor NPC at the Prevalia and Corpse Creek Banks
• Players may click the “Enter Winterlands” button on the Train Conductor’s menu to enter the Winterlands Event Region

• Upon clicking the “Enter Winterlands” button, players will be prompted to choose between two separate Instances of the Winterlands to enter
• Players can see how many Players are currently inside each of the instances
• The Normal Difficulty instance has no unique mechanical or scoring changes
• The Hard Difficulty instance features harder monsters and mechanics, but players will earn increased Score inside (score increase varies from monster to monster)

• Players are allowed 15 minutes within the Winterlands Event Zone and will be ejected to town upon completion
• Players cannot perform harmful acts on other players inside of the Event Zone
• All items on a player are considered Blessed within the Event Zone
• Players earn [EventScore by killing creatures inside the Event Zone with the amount determined by the creature’s Gold Value

• Players will occasionally encounter special Winterlands Items as loot drops during the event
• These items can include Train Coal, Train Track Pieces, Random Hued Train Engines/Cars, and Snowballs

• Snowballs are unique, interactive items that can only be found within Winterlands
• Snowballs have 10 uses each and then are consumed
• Snowballs can double-click Snowballs to throw them thrown at players, pets and NPCs!

Badly impersonating Santa, Winterlands Couriers travel throughout the Winterlands spreading joy and pain!

• Winterlands Couriers are invulnerable and cannot be harmed
• Winterlands Couriers will occasionally drop Mysterious Gifts or *deliver* them to nearby player locations

• Mysterious Gifts may sometimes have a Timer that counts down, and may or may not explode at the end of the timer
• Players can double-click a Mysterious Gift to trigger a random result

Opening a Mysterious Gift results may be any of the following:

• Explosion Trap
• Bleed Trap
• Poison Trap
• 1500 Bonus [EventScore for the player (Will increase in Hard instance)
• 3000 Bonus [EventScore for the player (Will increase in Hard instance)
• 10% Damage Bonus for the player (and their followers) for the remainder of their Winterlands Session
• Randomized Train Item Loot Item

• Each player has an [EventScore based on how well they do during the event
• Players can type [EventScore to see their current EventScore for this event (scores are updated hourly)
• At the end of the event, each player will have an Event Score Rank % determined for them based on how their [EventScore compares to all other players
• Example: a player who ranked 100th in [EventScore out of 1000 total players will have a Rank % of 90% (since they did better than 90% of all other players)

• Prizes for this event are distributed directly to player Bank Boxes at the end of the event
• Players will receive ALL prizes shown below that their Rank % matches or exceeds

• Outlands Collectable Card [0% Rank]
• Extinguished Winter Brazier [5-25% Rank]
• Potted Poinsettia (Random Hue) [25-50% Rank]
• Aurora Banner [50-75% Rank]
• Festive Walnut Tree (Animated Lightsource) [75-95% Rank]
• Festive Taxidermy Polar Bear [95-100% Rank]
• Event Hero Title [Top 5 Players]

Note: The Reward items for Winterlands (PvM) event are the same as the Reward items for the Jawbreaker (PvP) event

• The Top 5 players with the highest EventScore will also unlock the “Hero of Winterlands” displayable Title for their account
• This title will remain available to the player for 1 year, after which it will be removed from their account (they will be eligible to earn it for the following year’s event however)
