PATCH: August 31 – New Battle Trainers, Custom Lottery, Bug Fixes…

Battle Trainers

  • Players may now purchase Battle Trainer Deeds for their house from the Prevalia Market Merchant under the Deeds category

 

  • Players can double-click a Battle Trainer Deed to place a Battle Trainer NPC at their location in their house (max one per house)
  • Battle Trainers operate similarly to the Battle Trainer NPCs players can find on Shelter Island (they cannot be killed)

 

  • Players can set custom settings for Battle Trainers in their house by Shift-Clicking the Battle Trainer and clicking the “User Settings” button
  • Players can convert a Battle Trainer back into a deed by clicking the “Remove Now!” button

 

  • In the Battle Trainer settings window, players can customize desired Skill and Stats levels for their Battle Trainer, as well as set a target Health Percent for it (it will try to maintain this Health Percent as much as possible, for use of specific abilities / Aspects / etc)

Special Fishing Nets

  • Fixed an issue that was affecting loot drop chances for Aquarium Creatures on Special Fishing Nets

Treasure Maps

  • Treasure Maps have been dug up, but not yet completed, will now display “(in progress)” when single-clicked

Mount Breeding

  • Fixed an issue with Mount Breeding where using the same Male + Female to breed another time was not properly using the Tamer’s skills for Effective Fertility Breeding bonuses
  • Fixed an issue where players were able to retrieve Mounts from Mount Breeding Troughs and could exceed their maximum Follower Count limit

Barding

  • Fixed an issue where in some cases players attempting to place a second Barding Effect on an already barded creature (such as doing Peacemaking on a Discorded creature) were not receiving the +25 Effective Barding Skill bonus

Fishing Records

  • Fishing World Records for all Aquarium Creatures have now been reset, but all new fish caught should be recording correctly (our Fishing Overhaul patch unfortunately corrupted the existing World Records)

Aquarium Access

  • Fixed an issue that was not correctly tracking access levels for Aquariums (players must now be Owner or Co-Owners of houses to access aquariums)

Dungeon Regions

  • Fixed an issue for several dungeon locations adjusted by our recent map additions that was causing them to not register as dungeons properly

Echoes

  • We have disabled the ability for players to “Reset Echoes” to a player’s current stats and skills setup (too many players were screwing this up despite having a warning pop up menu + 3 confirmation warning explanations)
  • Doubloon Costs for unlocking Echoes will now match the Gold costs for unlocking Echoes

Customizations: Enhancements

  • Players can now use Doubloons to purchase Enchancements for their character through the Customizations system
  • Players can click the Left/Right arrows in the bottom right corner of the Enhancements page to rotate between currencies

 

  • Players can now purchase the Storeroom and Warehouse enhancements to increase the Bank Box item capacity of all characters on their account by 75 and 100 respectively

 

Ocean Bosses

  • The Barnacle ability of the Insatiable Maw Ocean Mini-Boss will no longer require players to “double-click” to remove “Barnacles” from their ship, and will instead simply apply a 25% Speed reduction on their ship for 30 seconds (50% Speed reduction for “Epic” version of ability)
  • The Hands From The Deep ability of the Ocean’s Fury Ocean Boss will no longer require players to “double-click” to remove “Hands from the Deep” from their ship, and will instead simply apply a 33% Speed reduction on their ship for 30 seconds (66% Speed reduction for “Epic” version of ability)
  • Both changes should address a potential issue where the boss abilities could occasionally prevent ships from moving for longer than was intended (even after “removing” barnacles or hands)

Riverrun Lodge

  • Fixed an issue which was blocking some existing house locations from placing new houses/upgrading because the Lodge region extended beyond the lodge itself

Arena Tournaments

  • Fixed a scheduling issue where staffmembers scheduling a 2 vs 2 Tournament would result in a 1 vs 1 Tournament starting
  • Fixed an issue where Arena Tournament Reward Points were not increasing a player’s [ServerRank score for the Arena Tournaments category

Artisan Aspect

  • Fixed an issue where players in Artisan Aspect armor could still burn Arcane Essence for XP gain despite being at the maximum tier level

Aspect Switching
Players activating a new Armor Aspect should now remove any duration bonuses to mechanics they received from their previous Armor Aspect, including the following:

  • Players losing Water Aspect Armor will have their Potion effect durations reduced if their durations now exceed the maximum duration allowed for their new Effective Alchemy Skill level
  • Players losing Lyric Aspect Armor will have their Barding Song effects adjusted for their new Effective Barding Skill, including adjusting the value for all other players who received the bonus from the player
  • Players losing Poison Aspect Armor will have their Taste ID Herbal Poultice effects adjusted for their new Effective Poisoning Skill, including adjusting the value for all other players who received the bonus from the player

Houses

  • Players should no longer be able to Eject or Ban any Vendors or House NPCs (including Stablemasters, Dockmasters, and Battle Trainers) from houses

Custom Lottery System

  • We have created a new Custom Lottery system that will allow staff to create special occasion lottery events that are not tied to the Weekly Lottery system
  • The Custom Lottery system will most likely feature non-traditional rewards for players ranging from special-hued Mounts, one-of-a-kind items, in-game houses, or even real-world rewards

The Custom Lottery system will also differ from the normal weekly lottery, in that the currency required to purchase tickets will often be a unique item type, which can potentially be any one of the following items:

  • Gold
  • Doubloons
  • Aspect Cores
  • Aspect Extracts
  • Aspect Phylacteries
  • Arcane Runes
  • Arcane Scrolls
  • Skill Mastery Scrolls
  • Plant Chemicals
  • Research Materials
  • Skill Mastery Orbs
  • Mastercrafting Diagrams

Any tickets purchased by players for a Custom Lottery will be stored internally in the system automatically and is stored on a per-player basis (not per account)

 

  • Players can Double-Click any Custom Lottery Official to see the details of any Custom Lottery that is underway
  • Players can click the “View Previous Lottery Result” button in the Custom Lottery Menu to view the results of the last Custom Lottery that was completed

 

  • Players can click the “View Current Lottery” button in the Custom Lottery Menu to go back and view the current lottery underway (if one exists)

Blood Aspect Hue

  • Fixed an issue where single-clicking Blood Aspect cloth or Blood Aspect non-weapon/armor items would not display the Hue info
  • Fixed an issue where Blood Aspect cloth could not be rotated via the Interior Decorator

Tinker Traps
Trap Wire explosion radius amounts are now as follows:

Iron Trap Wire: 2 Tile Radius
Copper Trap Wire: 2 Tile Radius
Silver Trap Wire: 3 Tile Radius
Gold Trap Wire: 3 Tile Radius
Platinum Trap Wire: 4 Tile Radius

Trap Wire explosions will not affect a target if both of the following are true:

1) The target is out of Line-of-Sight of the trap location
2) There is a height difference of more than 10 tiles from the trap location

These changes are intended to prevent instances where Traps were damaging things below surfaces, such as subterreanean caves

Antiquities

  • Antiquities will now always display the name of the player who registered them, even if that character is deleted
  • Fixed a graphical issue for the Purger Figurine Antiquity

Potions

  • Players can now use Strength / Agility potions to refresh the duration of existing Strength/Agility potion effects (and buff icons will refresh accordingly) provided they have waited the minimum 2 minute cooldown for potion usage (this largely applies to Alchemy skill / Water aspect buffed potions)

Buff Icons

  • Fixed a number of issues with Buff Icons not refreshing / displaying current durations for Str / Dex / Int effects

Pack Animals

  • Fixed an issue where Pack Animals unintentionally were able to be given Patrol commands

Lord Bile

  • Lord Bile will no longer generate Swamp Leaf items

Ship Stats

  • Added additional auditing to Ships and Ship Deeds to ensure that ship stats correctly reflect what they should be for their current Upgrades and Crewmembers (would sometimes display incorrectly after being docked or salvaged)

Skill Gain

  • Players will no longer be able to gain Skill or Stats while participating in a Town Struggle (some players were using this to take advantage of the Free Resource Consumption element of the event)

Strangelands

  • Players in Strangelands will no longer lose their Tracking target if it is 100 tiles away or more (both for Tracking skill and Field Guides)

Juggling Balls

  • Juggling Balls will now display their hue details when single-clicked
