Stygian Rifts
Gameplay
- Each player during a Stygian Rift event will now increase their Total Score by 1 for every 10 seconds they are Alive and in the Arena during the event
Reward Points
- Reward Points earned for Stygian Rifts will now be calculated on a Per Match basis (rather than ranking players on their score compared to players across “all” matches)
Each player on the Winning Team will receive 1 Reward Points
Players will then earn additional Reward Points based on their Total Pts for the match, as follows:
1st Place: 3 Reward Points
2nd Place: 3 Reward Points
3rd Place: 2 Reward Points
4th Place: 2 Reward Points
5th Place: 1 Reward Points
6th Place: 1 Reward Points
If any players are tied with the same Total Pts, tie-breaker will be calculated by their Total Damage Dealt during the match
Heat of Battle
- Fixed an issue where AoE Spells such as Mass Curse, Meteor Swarm, Chain Lightning, and Earthquake were not triggering a Heat of Battle duration for the caster when hitting other players
Meteor Swarm and Chain Lightning (AoE Spells)
For any player-casted versions of the Meteor Swarm and Chain Lightning spells that hit other players, player targets are now broken into two seperate categories: Normal PvP Players and Special PvP Players
Normal PvP Players
- Players by default are considered to be a Normal PvP Player
- When a Normal PvP player casts Meteor Swarm or Chain Lightning, it is always resolved as normal (no additional changes)
Special PvP Players
Players are considered to be a Special PvP Player if they are:
- Participating in a Corpse Creek Contest
- Participating members of a Faction (upcoming system)
When a Special PvP Player casts Meteor Swarm or Chain Lightning, and it hits any players, it resolves in a custom manner
Special PvP Player Handling For AoE Spells
- When a Special PvP Player casts Meteor Swarm or Chain Lightning, the Damage Per Player and Total Targets Hit will be tracked seperately for Normal PvP Players and for Special PvP Players
Example
A Special PvP Player casts Meteor Swarm and within the target radius there are 4 Normal PvP Players and 6 Special PvP Players
Rather than resolving the spell as having 10 players hit, instead we will have:
- The 4 Normal PvP Players will receive damage as if 4 players were hit, using normal damage resolution
- The 6 Special PvP Players will receive damage as if 6 players were hit, using Special PvP player damage resolution
Resolving Damage for Special PvP Players
Damage resolution for Special PvP Players notably will scale upwards more quickly and to a higher maximum, and there is no limit on the Max Number of Players Hit for these spells
Special PvP Player damage is resolved as follows:
Meteor Swarm (Special PvP Player)
- Base Damage: 5-10 Damage
- Damage Increase Per Player Hit: 4 Damage
- Max Damage to Player: 40 Damage
- Max Number of Players Hit: No Limit
Chain Lightning (Special PvP Player)
- Base Damage: 10-15 Damage
- Damage Increase Per Player Hit: 7 Damage
- Max Damage to Player: 50 Damage
- Max Number of Players Hit: No Limit
Note: We have chosen to leave out Town Struggles, Stygian Rifts, Dungeon Flashpoints, Ship Combat, Contested Bosses, and Omnis from being treated as Special PvP, primarily due to the often tight spaces involved with these scenarios which already amplify the effectiveness of AoE spells
Melee Defense
- Players can no longer reduce the To Hit Chance of Creatures against them to lower than 10% through bonuses to Melee Defense
Guild Prestige
- When individual players gain Prestige for completing Societies and Achievements, it will no longer announce those Prestige amount increases to the guild (this was potentially causing server-wide lag in a number of situations)

Ocean Bosses
- Ocean Mini-Bosses and Ocean Bosses will now have the same amount of starting Hit Points as their dungeon counterparts (100,000 and 200,000)

- Omni Bosses will now have a starting Hit Points of 1,500,000 (previously was 750,000)

- Omni Bosses will now scale up their Hit Points by 500,000 per participating player (previously was 250,000)

Thieves Guild
