EVENT: Welter at Winterlands!

Welter at Winterlands!
Commotion! Chaos! No one knows exactly what happened, all they know is that the Winterlands are in upheaval! Players will be able to return to the Winterlands to restore order from Friday, December 23rd at 3PM ET until January 1st, 2023!

Battle festive foes in a time-challenged event to recover, collect, and build your very own Train Set! Collect all 18 (4 new this year!) Trains Cars, which have a chance of being painted many different hues! Design your own track and watch your train chug along in this completely custom Outlandish winter holiday experience!

How Do I Participate?

Winterlands Tickets

To participate in the event, players will need to obtain a Winterlands 2022 Ticket
These Tickets will occur as uncommon loot from most gameplay systems (Monster Corpses, Dungeon/Treasure Map Chests, Ship Holds, etc)
Winterlands Tickets have no expiration but can only be used while the event is active
Winterland Tickets are Bound to individual players and cannot be used by other players
Winterland Tickets cannot be Stolen but will drop on death

Entering the Winterlands

Players may only enter the Winterlands if they have a Winterlands 2022 Ticket in their possession that is bound to them
Players can visit a Train Conductor NPC at the Prevalia and Corpse Creek Banks
Players may click the “Enter Winterlands” button on the Train Conductor’s menu to enter the Winterlands Event Region

Event Information

Players are allowed 15 minutes within the Winterlands Event Zone and will be ejected to town upon completion
Players cannot perform harmful acts on other players inside of the Event Zone
All items on a player are considered Blessed within the Event Zone
Players earn [EventScore by killing creatures inside the Event Zone with the amount determined by the creature’s Gold Value

Event Loot

Players will occasionally encounter special Winterlands Items as loot drops during the event
These items can include Train Coal, Train Track Pieces, Random Hued Train Engines/Cars, and Snowballs

Train Coal

Train Coal is used to power Train Engines
Each piece of Train Coal adds 15 minutes of runtime to a Train Engine
Players can encounter Train Coal as loot within Winterlands, but may also be purchased from the Workshop Elf (explained later)

Snowballs

Snowballs are unique, interactive items that can only be found within Winterlands
Snowballs have 10 uses each and then are consumed
Snowballs can double-click Snowballs to throw them thrown at players, pets and NPCs!

Winterlands 2022 Items

Four new Candy Train Engines/Cars have been added this year
Candy Train Engines/Cars will occur as loot inside of Winterlands as Rare, Randomized Hue versions
Players can purchase Unhued versions of these Engines/Cars from the Workshop Elf (explained later)

Winterlands Courier
Badly impersonating Santa, Winterland Couriers travel throughout the Winterlands spreading joy and pain!

Winterlands Couriers are invulnerable and cannot be harmed
Winterlands Couriers will occasionally drop Mysterious Gifts or *deliver* them to nearby player locations

Mysterious Gifts

Mysterious Gifts may sometimes have a Timer that counts down, and may or may not explode at the end of the timer
Players can double-click a Mysterious Gift to trigger a random result

Mysterious Gifts results may be any of the following:

Explosion Trap
Bleed Trap
Poison Trap
1500 Bonus [EventScore for the player
3000 Bonus [EventScore for the player
10% Damage Bonus for the player (and their followers) for the remainder of their Winterlands Session
Randomized Train Item Loot Item

[EventScore and Rank %

Each player has an [EventScore based on how well they do during the event
Players can type [EventScore to see their current EventScore for this event (scores are updated hourly)
At the end of the event, each player will have an Event Score Rank % determined for them based on how their [EventScore compares to all other players
Example: a player who ranked 100th in [EventScore out of 1000 total players will have a Rank % of 90% (since they did better than 90% of all other players)

What Are The Prizes?

Prizes for this event are distributed directly to player Bank Boxes at the end of the event
Players will receive ALL prizes shown below that their Rank % matches or exceeds

Winterlands Collectable Card [0-10% Rank]
Miniature Snowman (Random Hue) [10-30% Rank]
Miniature Winter Fountain (Animated) [30-50% Rank]
Miniature Snow Covered House [50-70% Rank]
Miniature Clock Tower (Animated and Random Hue) [70-90% Rank]
Miniature Hot Air Ballon (Animated and Random Hue) [90-100% Rank]

Top Player

The first place player will receive a 2022 Winterlands Golden Track Piece

The Workshop Elf

Players can visit Skivlet the Workshop Elf at the Prevalia and Corpse Creek Banks to purchase Train Items
Players can purchase Unhued Train Engines and Unhued Train cars from the Workshop Elf (Rare Hue versions can only be found inside of Winterlands)
Players must have a Train Engine in to make a moving Train Set
Each Train Engine begins with 30 minutes of Coal Reserves (i.e. train running time) but can have its running time extended with Train Coal
