OutlandsID and Infrastructure Updates

Huge thanks to our Developers j and for pushing through months of deep infrastructure work that just went live with today’s patch!

While you will not see major gameplay changes immediately, this update completely modernizes how Outlands handles world data and maps. It removes long standing technical limits, unlocks expanded world boundaries, supports more assets than ever before, and fundamentally changes what is possible for worldbuilding going forward. This is the culmination of a massive amount of behind the scenes work, and it breaks barriers that the game has lived with for decades.

Outlands continues to push past what anyone expects from a free shard, and this patch sets the stage for some very exciting things to come. Thank you to everyone who helped test this, and thank you to the community for being part of the journey.

OutlandsID Email-Based 2FA & Login Security Update

We’ve updated the OutlandsID login system to add email-based two-factor authentication (2FA) and make account verification faster, easier and more secure.

  • Email-based 2FA for new devices. The first time you log in from a new device, you’ll need to confirm it via email.
  • One-click verification. Most emails now include a clickable link so you can verify without copying codes, but manual code entry still work too.
  • Smoother login flow. The client will automatically continue once you click the email link.
  • Better password resets. Reset emails now take you straight to setting a new password.
  • More protection overall. These changes make it harder for unauthorized users to access your accounts.
