PATCH: November 19 – Map Updates, PvP/PvM Integration, Housing Changes and Much More

Armor Rating

  • When a player becomes Flagged in PvP and takes Damage from Creatures, their Armor Rating will reduce damage as normal (still factoring AR bonuses from Aspect Armor)
  • When a player becomes Flagged in PvP and takes Damage from Other Players, the Armor Rating used will be adjusted to not factor in any AR bonuses from Aspects

Example:
A player has a set of Platemail Armor that has a base 50 Armor Rating and is increased to 119 Armor Rating through their current Aspect Tier

While Flagged in PvP the player will reduce Damage from Creatures based off a 119 Armor Rating
While Flagged in PvP the player will reduce Damage from Players based off a 50 Armor Rating

A2pdlGC.png

PvM Bonuses During PvP
By default, nearly all PvM Bonuses will now remain in place while a player is Flagged in PvP, so long as the bonus *does not apply against players*

Swing Speed
Bonuses to Swing Speed will remain in place while a player is Flagged in PvP, so long as the player’s current target/combatant is a Creature and not a Player

Effects Always Disabled During PvP
Some effects by their nature have an inherent chance to affect PvP, and therefore these effects will ALWAYS be disabled when a player Flagged in PvP, including the following:

  • Mana Regen or Mana Restoration
  • Mana Refund
  • Health Regen or Health Restoration
  • Healing Dealt or Healing Received
  • Cure Chances
  • Resurrection
  • Aggro Radius
  • Stealth Steps
  • Smoke Bombs

Examples
The Mana Refund bonus from Aspect Spellbooks is disabled during PvP due to its Mana Refund
The Noble Sacrifice Ability from Chivalry is disabled during PvP due to its Health Restoration
The Wither Ability from Necromancy is disabled during PvP due to its Mana Restoration
The Overlooked Upgrade from the Thieves Codex is disabled during PvP due to its affect on Aggro Radius
The Cure/Arch Cure Upgrade from Wizard’s Grimoire is disabled during PvP due to its affect on Curing targets
The Healing Amounts Received Mastery Chain Link is disabled during PvP due to its affect on Healing Dealt
And so on…

Additionally, some Aspect Armor has special handling how their effects are handled (explained later)

Primary PvM Bonuses and Secondary PvM Bonuses
PvM Bonuses are now categorized as either being a Primary PvM Bonus or a Secondary PvM Bonus

Primary PvM Bonuses
Primary PvM Bonuses are effects that come from the following:

  • A PvM Bonus coming from having a Skill in their Template (Chivalry/Necromancy Abilities, Arms Lore Weapon Special Chance, etc)
  • A PvM Bonus coming from a Group PvM Effect (such as Barding Songs, Taste ID Herbal Poultice, Camping Group Comfort, etc)
  • A PvM Bonus coming from a Consumable/Activated item that does not require a Skill to use (Magic Resist Potions, Arcane Runes, etc)

Secondary PvM Bonuses
Secondary PvM Bonuses includes all other PvM Bonuses not considered Primary PvM Bonuses, such as the following:

  • Aspect Gear
  • Mastery Chains
  • Codexes / Grimoires / Tomes / etc
  • Aspect Weapon Oils/Foci/Ammunition

Note: Bonuses coming from Magical or Crafted Weapons, Spellbooks, Armor, Barding Instruments are not considered PvM Bonuses for the purposes of these mechanics, with the exception of Mana Refund from Spellbooks

Handling of Primary and Secondary Bonuses

  • Primary PvM Bonuses and Secondary PvM Bonuses are always disabled in the ArenaStygian Rifts, or during special PvP events such as Stalag Grotto Battle
  • In some unique scenarios, Primary PvM Bonuses may be allowed but Secondary PvM Bonuses will disabled (such as in upcoming Faction-based Classic Dungeons)

Food Satisfaction Exemption

  • The Food Satisfaction Chance for Additional Mana Regen effect receives a unique exemption in that it IS allowed while a player is Flagged in PvP, unless the player is inside the Arena (will not apply during Duels/Tournaments)
  • However, the Chance for Additional Mana Regen effect while a player is Flagged in PvP will NOT factor in any bonuses from the player’s Taste ID Skill
  • Food Satisfaction Bonuses will now persist through player death
ncGVHJU.png

Maximum Damage Resistance

  • Normally, players have a Maximum Damage Resistance against creatures of 80%
  • If a player has a Heat of Battle currently active, their Maximum Damage Resistance against creatures is reduced to 60%

Aspects in PvP

  • When a player becomes Flagged in PvP, nearly all of their Aspect Armor Bonuses will remain in place and work as normal against creatures
  • However, certain Aspect Armor Bonuses will temporarily be deactivated, due potential PvP imbalances they may cause
  • Players can see which of these effects will be deactivated for each Aspect Armor by clicking the “PvP Mechanics” button on the Aspect Menu under the Armor section
W7AW8On.png

  • All Aspect Armor Effects that are deactivated while a player is Flagged in PvP will be shown in a list under “PvP Deactivated Effects”
  • These effects will be reactivated once the player has been out of PvP for 60 seconds
9CzU4Km.png

  • If an Aspect has any PvP Deactivated Effects listed, it will then also likely have one or more “PvP Activated Effects” listed
  • Any bonuses listed under PvP Activated Effects will be a bonus applied to the Player against Creatures while they are currently Flagged in PvP
  • PvP Activated Effects are intended to act as a trade-off for the player losing Aspect Effects due to being Flagged in PvP

House Decay Lottery
When a house would collapse due to not being refreshed (IDOC – In Danger of Collapse), there are now two random possible outcomes for the house:

  • 50% Chance the House has a normal IDOC handling, after which it is Deleted, and an Items Collection Lottery occurs (i.e. our current handling)
  • 50% Chance the House Remains in Place, but is placed up for House Ownership Lottery, with all Items inside the house Deleted

Items Collection Lottery (House Deletion)
This is the “current” handling for House Decay: a randomized 15-60 minute IDOC window occurs, and upon completion the house is Deleted (and players can place a new house at the location after a random delay following that)

Upon the house being Deleted, the following happens:

  • 34% of the Items previously in the house (always including Storage Shelves) are added into an “Items Collection Lottery”

  • ALL Items in the house are immediately Deleted

  • The player has the Ticket in their backpack
  • The player does not currently have a House on their Account (Rental Rooms do not count towards this restriction)
